Fiorentina-Bologna, Coppa Italia: free TV, streaming, lineups, predictions

Fiorentina-Bologna is a match valid for the Italian Cup quarterfinals and is played Tuesday at 9 p.m.: lineups, predictions, TV and streaming.

Fiorentina and Bologna not only want to rewrite the hierarchies of Serie A but also those of the Coppa Italia and at the “Franchi” they will compete in an exciting dry match all to enjoy, contending for a success that puts a pass to the semifinals up for grabs.

For the Viola, in case of victory, it would be the third appearance in a row among the top four of the second national competition in order of importance: in the last edition it even reached the final at the Olimpico, then lost by a narrow margin to Inter. Despite ups and downs and above all a pair of strikers, Nzola-Beltran, who in terms of offensive production are making the one formed by Jovic and Cabral – both sold in the summer to make room for the former Spezia and the Argentine – the Gigliati finished in fourth place in the first half of the season, going beyond the wildest expectations. Last Saturday, however, Fiorentina squandered a big chance, failing to take advantage of the missteps of their pursuers.

Against Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia, the Viola interrupted a positive series that had lasted since November, with the defense returning to concede goals (1-0) after three clean sheets in a row and with Bonaventura also failing a penalty kick in the second half.

Bologna’s slowdown

In the Coppa Italia Vincenzo Italiano’s team finds another Emilian: in the round of 16 they had an ugly time with Parma, bent only after penalty kicks.

Bologna, on the other hand, eliminated two-time defending champions Inter in the previous round and did so by overturning the Nerazzurri (1-2) in the final minutes of the second extra time, thanks to goals from Beukema and jewel Zirkzee. In the league, however, Thiago Motta’s men have slowed down a bit, picking up only one point in the last two days against Udinese (3-0) and Genoa (1-1), the latter reeled in at the last gasp by a goal from the experienced De Silvestri. In any case, it remains an incredible season for the Felsinei, who have one point less than Fiorentina in the standings and would be qualified for the Europa League as of today. Motta is expected to field the starting lineup in Florence, with Ferguson set to return after his disqualification. Changes on the other hand in Fiorentina, still orphaned of its best player Nico Gonzalez and Kouamé, committed to the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations: the changes will be Christensen, Parisi, Maxime Lopez and Beltran.

The prediction

A high-ranking Apennine derby between two teams that have done very well in the first part of the championship and could vie for a place in Europe. The last precedent dates back to last November, with Fiorentina managing to impose themselves on a good Bologna (2-1) at the end of a very balanced match. In the Coppa Italia, on the other hand, viola and rossoblù have not clashed since the double semifinal of the 1998-99 edition, then won by the gigliati in extra time. The absences of Gonzalez and Kouamé weigh heavily but the Italian team should be able to at least avoid defeat in regulation time in a match in which in all likelihood they will both score.

The probable lineups of Fiorentina-Bologna

FIORENTINA (4-2-3-1): Christensen; Kayode, Milenkovic, Ranieri, Parisi; Maxime Lopez, Duncan; Ikoné, Bonaventura, Brekalo; Beltran.
BOLOGNA (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Posch, Beukema, Lucumì, Lykogiannis; Moro, Aebischer; Orsolini, Ferguson, Saelemaekers; Zirkzee.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
