Croatia-Armenia is a match on the tenth day of Group D of Euro 2024 qualifiers and is played on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.: predictions.
Armenia, by halting Wales’ run last Saturday, indirectly gave a welcome gift to Croatia, which in turn, by beating Latvia (0-2) without any major problems, once again bypassed the Britons in the standings and became masters of its own destiny again.
The red-and-white checkered selection now has 2 points more than Wales but cannot afford any missteps in the last round. Yes, because even a draw against Armenia might not be enough if, in the other match, Robert Page’s men manage to get the better of Turkey, already qualified and sure of first place. In fact, in the event of a tie on points, the Zlatko Dalic-led team would slip to third place because of direct matches: the defeat suffered last October in Cardiff (2-1) would be decisive at that point. To avoid nasty surprises, therefore, Modric and his teammates cannot make too many calculations, with the understanding that even in the worst case Croatia is sure to have a place in the March play-offs thanks to second place in the last Nations League.
Croatia, a draw might not be enough
It is now gone, however, the dream of Armenia, which remained in the game until the ninth day: the men of Aleksandr Petrakov no longer have any chance to finish among the top two.
The former Ukraine technical commissioner can, however, be satisfied with the path his team has taken, taking away important satisfactions such as the win in Wales (2-4) or the draw with Turkey, with the victory slipping away only in the last minutes. Croatia itself did not have an easy time in Yerevan either: last September Dalic’s selection “only” went through 1-0 thanks to a goal by Hoffenheim center forward Kramaric (four goals in five appearances for him). He will again lead the Croatian attack. Out, however, Kovacic.
The prediction
In Latvia, Croatia showed that it has overcome the difficult moment that complicated its qualification plans in a group that seemed affordable. Victory (decisive) against hostile Armenia should come in a match of at least three goals total.
