Conference League, from the challenge between Ararat Armenia and Puskas Akademia will come out the opponent of Palladino’s Viola in the playoffs: predictions;
In the Conference League, everything is now ready for the third-last slate of matches from which the qualifiers for the play-offs, the last preliminary round before the single-round phase, will emerge. In the coming week, in fact, teams from Europe’s top five leagues, including Raffaele Palladino’s Fiorentina, will also enter the game. The Viola will face the winner of the challenge between Ararat Armenia and Puskas Akademia of Hungary, who got the better of the first leg away (1-0).
A comeback is possible but it seems unlikely that the Magyars will be overwhelmed at home by an opponent who did not do much of anything seven days ago. A narrow victory was also achieved by the Romanians of Cluj against the Israelis of Maccabi Petach Tikva: in the return match we expect a wider success from the men led by Dan Petrescu.
Sheriff Tiraspol, on the other hand, is on the brink of the abyss: last week the Transnistrian club collapsed in Ljubljana against Olimpia (3-0) and now must climb a mountain to continue its continental adventure. Qualification appears compromised, but this time it will likely manage to avoid defeat. The Basaksehir Turks will in all likelihood have an easy time against the Georgians of Iberia, already bent 1-0 a week ago: a rounder victory is expected in Istanbul. The field factor will also be decisive in Split: Rino Gattuso’s Hajduk after the 0-0 first leg is favored against Ruzomberok.
The predictions on the other matches
One of the most entertaining matches of the first leg was the one between Brondby and Legia Warsaw, with the Poles eventually coming out on top 3-2: goals and excitement ahead in the return match as well.
Djurgarden-Ilves, Vojvodina-Maribor and Gent-Silkeborg should not be poor in goals either: the Belgians, despite having more experience at the international level, were outplayed by the Danes (2-2) in the first round and now they have to win in front of their fans. Copenhagen, which “only” won 1-0 against Banik Ostrava in the first leg, must also be careful: both should score in the Czech Republic. At least one goal on each side as well in Tromso-Kilmarnock and Wisla Krakow-Spartak Trnava.
