Cologne-Eintracht Frankfurt is a match on the 20th day of the Bundesliga and is played on Sunday at 17:30: TV, formations, predictions.
Still busy on several fronts, Eintracht Frankfurt are coping well, confirming the growth seen even before the World Cup break, which offsets a difficult start. Oliver Glasner, one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the Bundesliga, has managed to re-motivate a group that last year returned after a long time to lift an international trophy, the Europa League. And which in the summer had to reckon with some excellent disposals. One above all, that of Kostic to Juventus.
In 2023 Eintracht are undefeated and their four good results (two wins and two draws) in the league have extended the positive streak. There are now seven matches without defeat for the Adlers, who have not lost since last October. Since January, they have beaten Schalke 04 and Hertha Berlin 3-0 in their two home games, while they emerged unscathed from difficult away matches against Freiburg and Bayern Munich, both of which ended 1-1. Glasner also did not underestimate the German Cup commitment this week, qualifying for the next round with a pyrotechnic 4-2 win over Darmstadt, who are currently top of the Zweite Liga.
Kolo Muani is on fire
The Austrian coach played with most of the starters, but the scene was taken by the usual Kolo Muani: the young transalpine striker, who has already shown himself at the last World Cup with France, is the absolute star of Frankfurt’s recent outings with his goals.
Eintracht, however, cannot take any breaks if they want to finish in the top four. Ahead of them are racing and ahead of the Champions League double-header with Napoli, they will have to try to collect as many points as possible. Another tricky away match awaits them, that of Cologne. Steffen Baumgart’s Billy Goats are also undefeated in 2023, and after overwhelming Werder Bremen (7-1) with goals, they have managed three draws in a row, including one against Bayern Munich. In short, a solid opponent, who in the first part of the season overpaid for the double weekly commitment.
The prediction
Cologne are a tough nut to crack and it will be very difficult for Eintracht Frankfurt to come back with three points in their pocket. It will be a hard-fought match, in which both sides are likely to score. A draw cannot be ruled out.
