Catanzaro-Lecco, Serie B: streaming, odds, predictions.

by Thorsten

Catanzaro-Lecco is a match valid for the 20th day of Serie B and is played on Friday at 8:30 p.m.: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.

Vincenzo Vivarini’s Catanzaro knows no half-measures, as it greeted 2023 – a special year for the Calabrian club, back in the cadetteria after 17 years – with its third consecutive defeat, suffered at home to Reggiana (1-0). The absence of captain Pietro Iemmello, who has been out for a few weeks due to injury, perhaps weighed more than expected.

Without their goal scorer as well as team leader, the Giallorossi have seen their offensive numbers worsen: only two goals in the last three games, staying dry in the away matches of Ascoli and Reggio Emilia. Clamorous instead was the comeback suffered in the home match with Brescia, in which Catanzaro had squandered a double lead, getting a 3-2 comeback in the final. The long break – B has not taken the field since last Dec. 26 – will probably have done the Eagles some good, who in any case in the first half of the season went beyond what was expected, settling in the playoff zone and just 5 points away from direct promotion. Vivarini’s team will raise the curtain on the return leg, hosting Lecco (another newly promoted team) at “Ceravolo.” The Lombardi after a bad start to the season – which moreover started late because of the stadium issue – have started to grind out points following the arrival of the new coach, Emiliano Bonazzoli, and today they are out of the playout zone. In the last round they got the better of Sudtirol 2-1 in their direct clash, which was rematched by a brace from former Frosinone Novakovich.

Catanzaro-Lecco: the latest lineup news

Captain Iemmello should recover for Lecco: the Giallorossi number 9 has been training regularly for a few days and will be evaluated before the match. Also back at Vivarini’s disposal are Donnarumma and Krastev while Ghion, Veroli, Situm and Brignola remain in the infirmary.

In Lecco, new signings Loukima, who arrived from Roma, and Salcedo, on loan from Inter, could take over in the game. In attack, Di Stefano, Novakovich and Buso.

The prediction

For Catanzaro, Lecco looks like the right opponent to get back to scoring points and to end the negative streak. The Manzonians, however, are no longer those of the beginning of the season and with whom the Calabrians got the better of 4-3 in their league debut. Vivarini’s team will struggle to keep their goal inviolate this time as well.

The probable lineups of Catanzaro-Lecco

CATANZARO (4-4-2): Fulignati; Katseris, Scognamillo, Brighenti, Krajnc; Sounas, Verna, Pompetti, Vandeputte; Iemmello, Biasci.
LECCO (4-3-3): Melgrati; Battistini, Celjak, Bianconi, Lepore; Ionita, Sersanti, Crociata; Di Stefano, Novakovich, Buso.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-1
