Bundesliga, predictions third day: matches Saturday 3:30 p.m.

by Martin

Bundesliga, after losing their long unbeaten streak Bayer Leverkusen will try to turn the page immediately in the away match in Sinsheim: predictions.

Reigning German champions Bayer Leverkusen’s very long unbeaten streak came to a halt two weeks ago in the last match before the national team break. After more than a year, the Xabi Alonso-coached team came back to lose a Bundesliga match, squandering a double lead and being unbelievably comebacked by Leipzig (2-3) at the BayArena.

A match that did nothing but confirm the Aspirins’ defensive problems, unable to keep their goal unbeaten even in the previous 3 matches between the league and the German Super Cup (no less than 2 goals conceded per game between Stuttgart, Borussia Monchengladbach and Leipzig). Bayer Leverkusen will also have to be very careful in the treacherous trip to Sinsheim against Hoffenheim, another team that wants to redeem the ugly knockout – its first of the season – suffered last August 31 in Frankfurt (3-1). It will not be a walk in the park, in short, for the Schale holders, who may have to postpone the appointment with their first clean sheet. Among the teams that are likely to remain with full points after this round as well is Leipzig: the Roten Bullen are off to a great start (wins over Bochum and Bayer Leverkusen) and have a good chance of extending their winning streak against Union Berlin, unbeaten but far from the glory of two seasons ago. Also favored for the 3 points is Freiburg, as of this year coached by Julian Schuster: Grifo and his teammates should be able to forget their defeat to Bayern Munich (2-0) against disastrous Bochum, still on zero points along with newly promoted St. Pauli and Kiel.

The predictions for the other matches

Stuttgart, last season’s big revelation, is ready for its Champions League debut. First, however, the Swabians will be hunting for their first league success after a defeat in Freiburg and a home draw with Mainz. Borussia Monchengladbach, in any case, will not roll out the red carpet to Sebastian Hoeness’s men, who are paying for the many changes made in the summer.

Predicted balance, finally, in the challenge between Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. The green-and-whites bounced back immediately after their debut defeat to Bayern Munich (0-2 at Kiel) and so did the Adlers by overwhelming Hoffenheim 3-1 and archiving the defeat to Borussia Dortmund: there will be no shortage of goals.
