Bundesliga, predictions sixth day: matches Saturday 3:30 p.m.

by Martin

Bundesliga, immediately on the pitch Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen after midweek commitments in the Champions League: predictions.

On Saturday afternoon in Bundesliga, two teams that have been engaged in the Champions League this week take the field: Borussia Dortmund and reigning German champions Bayer Leverkusen. The yellow-and-whites in the cup enjoyed themselves by thrashing the hapless Celtic, annihilated 7-1 at Signal Iduna Park, and making it two for two (two weeks earlier, in their opener, they had won 3-0 over Belgian club Brugge).

In the league, however, Nuri Sahin’s men need to be more continuous. In the standings, they are -3 from top-ranked Bayern Munich and yet there are no less than 3 teams ahead of them.Weighing the away draw in Bremen, but above all, the unprepossessing 5-1 loss at home to Stuttgart.

Last Friday, Borussia Dortmund bounced back by beating Bochum 4-2 and, after their goal-scoring spree with the Scots, they go on the hunt for confirmation against hostile Union Berlin. The Capitols have just fallen (1-0 at home to Monchengladbach) losing their unbeaten streak, but if in front of their own public they have always won something it must mean: one can give Borussia confidence in a match in which Union will also likely score. Easier task on paper for Xabi Alonso’s Aspirins, fresh from their 1-0 success over AC Milan and also with full points in the Champions League. Bayer Leverkusen, which stopped Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, should not miss the appointment with the three points against newly promoted Kiel, last in the classic and with the worst defense.

The predictions on the other matches

Two wins in the last three games for Werder Bremen, whose only defeat came in the prohibitive challenge with Bayern Munich. The green-and-whites will most likely set up a thrilling match with Freiburg, which has an obligation to restart after the incredible home thud with newly promoted St. Pauli: at least one goal per side at the Weserstadion.

Last but not least, the match between Bochum and Wolfsburg is anything but a foregone conclusion. The Blauen have not yet won a game but in the last three days they have always scored and on Friday they put Dortmund in trouble: they will also sell their skins dearly against the Wolves, who have not won since before the breaks for national team commitments.
