Bundesliga, predictions day 15: matches Saturday 3:30 p.m.

by Sabrina

Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt is on the decline and hasn’t been able to win for a few weeks now: will the turning point come in the match against Mainz?

A week ago, Eintracht Frankfurt failed to nibble points off leading Bayern Munich, which cashed in its first league defeat by stumbling in Mainz. Dino Toppmoller’s Adlers, at the same time, cashed in their second knockout within a few days at home to Leipzig: last Dec. 4, in fact, the Roten Bullen had already gotten the better of the Rossoneri (3-0), ousting them from the German Cup.

A drubbing, that one, which probably helped to shake some certainty in the Eintracht players: since then Trapp and his teammates have not won, drawing in the league against Augsburg (2-2) and losing two in a row between Lyon (Europa League) and, precisely, Leipzig. To avert a possible overtaking in the standings – Frankfurt is momentarily third – it will be necessary to get back to winning ways as soon as possible: Toppmoller and his men will try right away, in the home challenge with a Mainz galvanized by the surprising victory against the Bavarians. The red-and-whites, beyond the prestigious success against Bayern, are healthy, and this is proven by the fact that since mid-October, at least as far as the league is concerned, they have lost only once and achieved a beauty of four victories. Thus, there are preconditions to witness a balanced match, in which both teams are likely to score.

The predictions on the other matches

Also fared reasonably well for Werder Bremen, which in the last 2 days took advantage of the “downhill” schedule to make a big leap in the standings. The green-and-whites have beaten, without conceding goals, two affordable opponents such as Bochum and St. Pauli and have peeped into the left side of the standings (they are ninth).

Ole Werner’s team, despite being only 14th in domestic performance, has a good chance of avoiding defeat against Union Berlin, which has been on a two-month winless streak. Also on the upswing is Sebastian Hoeness’s Stuttgart: the Swabians are coming off four consecutive successes between competitions (in the Bundesliga they beat Union Berlin and Heidenheim) and have an opportunity to move closer to fourth place: newly promoted St. Pauli, fresh off two knockouts, should not be able to put up much resistance.

There is no clear favorite, finally, in Hoffenheim-Borussia Monchengladbach and Kiel-Augsburg: in this house it would be better to tack on the number of goals, which should not be few.
