Bundesliga, predictions 33rd day: matches Saturday 3:30 p.m.

Bundesliga, on the penultimate day of the German top league, another verdict could come in the fight not to be relegated: news and predictions.

There are 180 minutes left until the end of Bundesliga 2023-24, and the only verdict, relative to the right side of the standings, is the relegation, which has been arithmetic for weeks now, of tail-end Darmstadt. Those who may soon join them are Cologne, second-last and obliged to win both of their last two games (Union Berlin and Heidenheim) in order to hope to at least contest the promotion-relegation playoff.

The situation in which the Billy Goats find themselves is a desperate one: even a draw in the direct clash with the capital team could be fatal to them, given the 5 points that currently separate them from the fifth-last, Mainz. The problem, for Timo Schultz’s men, is that Union Berlin, despite being out of the red zone, can also afford missteps. The risk of slipping to third-last place and being forced to play the play-off is real since Mainz is only a pasting away.

Union, by the way, has won only one point in five matches. And after the crushing defeat a week ago against Bochum (3-4), the club gave the Croatian coach Nenad Bjelica the sack, replacing him with Marco Grote. In an afternoon that promises to be dramatic, the two worst attacks in the tournament face each other: this time, however, there should be no shortage of goals, if we consider that, in the event of a draw, Cologne would be relegated.

The predictions on the other matches

Borussia Monchengladbach still does not have salvation in its pocket: the Fohlen, protagonists of a season below expectations, only need a point to be certain of playing in the Bundesliga again next year.

After the 2 draws in a row with Union Berlin and Werder Bremen, another one could therefore come with Eintracht Frankfurt, coming off two defeats to Bayern Munich (2-1) and Bayer Leverkusen (1-5). The Adlers will not be in the mood for gifts, however: they must defend sixth place, which would mean qualification for the Europa League, from Freiburg, which is currently four points down. We anticipate at least three goals overall in the Borussia Park challenge, and eventful could also be the one at the Europa-Park-Stadion between hosts Freiburg and newly promoted Heidenheim. The guests, tenth in the standings, can even still aspire to a historic European qualification and will make life difficult for Christian Streich’s team.

Werder Bremen also still has a few chances, but it will be difficult to snatch points from the away trip to Leipzig, with the Roten Bullen, already sure to take part in the next Champions , not having lost since February.
