Bundesliga, predictions 32nd day: matches Saturday 3:30 p.m.

by Mike

Bundesliga, there is not only the fight for the title to animate this crackling round of the German top league: predictions.

In the Bundesliga there are only three days left to play and monopolizing the attention can only be title fight between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, separated by only one point. A complete change from recent seasons, in which the Bavarians were used to celebrating several days in advance.

The two contenders take the field within a few hours of each other, but other interesting matches are also on the Saturday afternoon schedule of the German top league, concerning both the race for Europe and the race for salvation. One above all is that between Union Berlin and Freiburg, fourth and fifth respectively and paired on 56 points (capitols ahead on better goal difference, +12 versus +8). After being overtaken by Leipzig, the feeling is that only one of the two, at the end of the season, will crown the dream of qualifying for the next Champions League. Union Berlin, the protagonist of an above-expectation year, has appeared a bit oxygen-deprived in the last period, barely getting a win in six games. Freiburg, on the other hand, after three consecutive successes has lost twice in front of its home crowd against Leipzig in the space of a few days, first in the German Cup (1-5) and then in the league (0-1). Two of the best defenses face each other, and given the importance of what is at stake, we do not expect an overly eventful match: the Union should manage to avoid defeat.

The predictions on the other matches

Another challenge to watch is the one between Bochum and Augsburg. The hosts recently stopped Borussia Dortmund, complicating the Gialloneri’s run, but as of today they would be relegated to the Zweite Liga: they are second-to-last, just two points from direct salvation.

Bochum, unable to win for the past six days, has no alternative but to win against an Augsburg side that, on the other hand, would secure salvation with three points. A very tense match is on the horizon, in which the guests could even be satisfied with a point. They have a chance to get back in the running for a Europa League spot Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz, three and five points respectively behind sixth-place Bayer Leverkusen. Oliver Glasner’s team can also access it by winning the German Cup, which they will contest in the final with Leipzig. Expect at least three goals overall. There should be no shortage of goals between Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim either. The green-and-whites need to fight back after the very heavy 6-0 win in Dortmund, while the guests are still by no means safe.

Bundesliga: possible winners

  • Union Berlin or draw (in Union Berlin-Freiburg).
