Borussia Dortmund-Hoffenheim, Bundesliga: lineups, predictions

by Martin

Borussia Dortmund-Hoffenheim is a Bundesliga Week 5 match and is played on Friday at 20:30: line-ups, predictions, TV and streaming

If Borussia Dortmund are not on full points after four Bundesliga matches, it is only because of those five minutes of madness in the dying minutes of the match against Werder Bremen. A match that the Gialloneri already had in the bag, arriving at the 90th minute with the score 2-0. Then the irreparable happened, with three goals in just five laps of the clock by the newly-promoted green-and-whites. The defeat – the only one of the season so far – did not seem to leave a lasting impression or affect the morale of Edin Terzic’s team.

Reus and his team-mates returned to winning ways in the away match at the Olympiastadion against a Hertha Berlin in black crisis. It was the experienced French centre-forward Modeste, bought a fortnight ago from Cologne in a hurry after former Ajax player Sebastien Haller was diagnosed with cancer and out indefinitely after an operation. On the whole, however, Borussia Dortmund did not enchant: in addition to wasting several chances on goal and keeping the result in the balance until the end, they repeatedly risked conceding the equalizer for the Capitoline team.

Three points, however, were important for Terzic and his team, especially in light of Bayern Munich’s first false step, stopped by Borussia Monchengladbach. Hoffenheim, Dortmund’s next rival in the championship, are also moving ahead. After the opening defeat against Gladbach, the Sinsheim club made it three wins in a row, including a 0-3 without history at the BayArena against top-ranked Bayer Leverkusen.

The Prediction

Two teams who are off to a good start will face each other, and it is no coincidence that they are both just one point off the summit occupied by Bayern and Union. Borussia Dortmund have not yet found great balance after the summer revolution, but they are undoubtedly the Bavarians’ main antagonist. The yellow-and-whites are slight favourites against Hoffenheim in a match in which the attacks could shine. Especially watch out for Kramaric, who has scored eight goals in ten games against Dortmund.
