Binance CEO accuses WazirX of playing misleading word games

by Thorsten

The CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), is actively trying to dispel doubts surrounding the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation of WazirX. Binance is also denying all forms of ownership surrounding WazirX.

Disagree to cooperate with investigation

Meanwhile, CZ has also accused Nischal Shetty of not cooperating with the trial. CZ allegedly accused the co-founder of WazirX, Nischal Shetty, of playing “deception word games”.

WazirX is a cryptocurrency exchange from India and was founded in 2017. An investigation has been launched into the Indian cryptocurrency exchange, which they reportedly do not want to cooperate with. Binance reportedly asked in February this year to transfer the entire system source code, implementation and operations of WazirX.

Initially, the exchange refused to cooperate in any way. However, CZ now claims that they have since received the AWS login from the exchange, but without any source code or implementation capabilities.

Meanwhile, all users have reportedly been asked to transfer all the money they have on the crypto platform to another crypto-wallet provider. CZ emphasised the power they have to technically disable any WazirX wallet. However, by doing so, users will suffer, without Binance benefiting. It is therefore expected that this will not happen so quickly. However, this is not a guarantee.

However, Binance now has full ROOT access to WazirX’s AWS, which gives them control over the platform. All domains are also owned by the popular crypto-exchange. It is not yet known exactly what will happen to the Indian exchange.
