Manchester United-Newcastle is a match for the 11th day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 15:00: predictions, TV, streaming
MANCHESTER UNITED – NEWCASTLE | Sunday 3pm
Here was the test coach Erik ten Hag was crying out for after a run of three wins against Omonia Nicosia – beaten twice in the space of a week in the Europa League group stage – and Everton. Three consecutive successes against in-form opponents, however, allowed Manchester United to breathe again and think positive after the humiliating derby defeat to Manchester City. On 2 October, the city’s bitter rivals wreaked havoc on the Red Devils’ defence, demolishing them in an epic 6-3 defeat, but Bruno Fernandes and his team-mates do not seem to have suffered much of a blow. The team, despite the fact that the new coach has not yet managed to iron out the old flaws, is slowly finding its physiognomy. And in the middle the chemistry between Casemiro and Eriksen, both of whom arrived in the last campaign, is starting to work.
In the Premier League United are momentarily fifth, one point away from fourth place: if the summit seems far away, the games remain open to finish in the top four, the real objective of the former Ajax coach and his men. The ambitious Newcastle, this weekend on stage at Old Trafford, has only one point less and comes to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ with warlike intentions. After the uncertain start, the formation coached by the good Eddie Howe seems to have got into gear: against Fulham and Brentford came two large victories of 4-1 and 5-1, demonstrating an attack that has now unblocked. Dealing with the Magpies, who are aiming for the top seven this time around after a pharaonic strengthening campaign in the last two markets, will not be easy for anyone.
The Prediction
It promises to be a balanced and difficult match at Old Trafford, between two teams who have looked healthy in recent matches. Better to bet on goals, given the form of their respective attacks: both should score on at least one occasion.
