Leeds-Arsenal is a match for the eleventh day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 15:00: predictions, TV, streaming
LEEDS – ARSENAL | Sunday 3pm
In England no one “dares” to speak of a flash in the pan of Mikel Arteta’s sparkling start to Arsenal’s season. Yes, because after nine Premier League matches the Gunners are first with merit and are managing to keep up with an equally overflowing Manchester City, defending champions and – with an extra Haaland – main favourites for what would be their third consecutive title. The Londoners have collected 24 points, one more than Pep Guardiola’s battleship, the result of eight wins and only one defeat. The drubbing at home to Manchester United last September has not left the slightest trace: the knockout at Old Trafford remains the only one in the midst of a long string of successes. It is also a clear run in the Europa League, where Arteta and his side are on full points after the first four matches.
The double-header so far isn’t hurting the Londoners’ superb run of form. On Thursday they went on to win in Norway against Bodo/Glimt on the edge of the Arctic Circle despite a hard-fought battle a few days earlier against Liverpool, who were beaten 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium. Xhaka and his teammates found the way of the goal with great ease: their attack is second only to that of City, who in this round being engaged in the not easy away match at Anfield against the Reds could lose ground. Arsenal meanwhile go in search of yet another victory against an unconquerable Leeds, who are currently fourteenth in the table and three points ahead of third-last Wolverhampton. Jesse Marsch’s Whites slowed down abruptly after a fine 3-0 win over Chelsea on 21 August and in their next five games have scored just two points despite a far from impossible schedule.
The Prediction
Transfer which, apart from the complicated moment Leeds are going through, could hold some pitfalls for Arsenal. The Withes are still unbeaten in front of their home crowd, where they have recorded two wins and as many draws. The Gunners’ victory, however, should still come, as Leeds have not beaten the Londoners since 2003, having won the last four meetings. At Elland Road the aggregate goals should be at least three.
