In the Bundesliga, a goal-scoring match between Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen is to be expected, while in the Spanish La Liga, Rino Gattuso’s Valencia will face Osasuna. As well as being one of the surprises at the start of the season, Osasuna are traditionally a tough customer when playing at home.

Lyon, fresh off four consecutive defeats, have decided not to sack coach Bosz: against Toulouse a return to winning ways is expected in a match with at least three goals in total. There is also a Serie B fixture between two of the nobility of Italian football, who only last year faced each other in A: Genoa and Cagliari.
