Chelsea-Everton prediction: the Champions League is a reality

by Martin

Yes, it’s true that Chelsea have to play their Conference League semi-final next week. But it’s also true that Enzo Maresca’s men, who have slipped to sixth in the table, cannot afford to slip up at home against Everton.

A trophy is a trophy, we know, but the revenue that qualifying for the next Champions League would bring to the club is truly inestimable. So no rotation, but maximum concentration to get the better of a team that has now achieved its season goal and should therefore not pose too many problems. Of course, Liverpool will not be arriving in London already beaten; on the contrary, they will sell their lives dearly, as usual. But, as mentioned, Chelsea cannot afford to think about anything other than winning this game at the moment. And the Blues have the quality to do so.

This is also because they have been on a clear path at Stamford Bridge since December 26. The last team to take three points was Fulham. Since then, there have only been wins and a few draws in front of their home crowd. It is therefore an interesting run that will continue on Saturday afternoon. Chelsea are the clear favorites.

The prediction

As mentioned before, there is no room for mistakes. Chelsea must focus on fifth place, at least, which is worth a place in next season’s Champions League. Against an Everton side with little motivation, the Blues will take all three points. A game with at least three goals in total.
