Pietrangeli and the phrase Sinner would never say: chill in the studio

by Michael

Pietrangeli and his backhand: live anecdote wreaks havoc.

One thing they have in common: talent. And first one, then years later the other, both have well thought of pouring it into a discipline that is going through, today, a golden age, namely tennis. The champions we are talking about are the unforgettable Nicola Pietrangeli and the very young Jannik Sinner, the tennis player who has given, so far, the most joys to the public of the Bel Paese.

Taking away talent and life choices, however, the Tunis native and the athlete from San Candido could not be more different. They have two characters that are not only not at all similar, but are even opposites. Sinner has a mild temperament and is very reserved, while it is clear that Pietrangeli likes to appear, which he does by intervening in the sporting debate more or less habitually.

It should be clear to everyone that although he has hung up his racket for decades now, his life continues to revolve, as it should, around tennis. And that is why he misses no opportunity to have his say about the champions of the 21st century, often with somewhat sui generis statements that turn the noses – something that has happened repeatedly in the past – of fans. Not this time, however. In this case it was someone else who spoke about him and brought up an anecdote straight from the past.

He spilled the beans in the studio: freewheeling Pietrangeli

In the past few days, Paulo Roberto Falcão, among the strongest midfielders in the history of Italian soccer in memory, was a guest of Fabio Caressa, on Sky Calcio Club. And it was at that moment that he made a puzzling revelation that has to do precisely with Pietrangeli.

It all started the moment the journalist showed the footballer an old photo of Nicola in the stands, never imagining that Falcão could tell the episode of which, instead, he wanted to make the audience from home aware. He revealed about the time, in the past, so it seems, he asked Pietrangeli how he could shoot so hard on his backhand and how the same one formulated, in this regard, a rather unusual answer.

A parallel with women, a phrase of the sort that Sinner, who never pushes certain boundaries, would never, ever say. And with respect to which many social media users were incredulous.
