Sinner on the razor’s edge: he has their eyes on him

by Mike

Jannik Sinner, impossible to take your eyes off him right now: it’s like walking on a razor’s edge.

What’s most amazing is that despite the pressure, he continues to consistently perform at 100%. An unmistakable sign of his mental strength, as well as the very rare ability to concentrate to the point of isolating himself from the rest of the world. There is no room for anything or anyone else when Jannik Sinner is playing tennis and pursuing his career goals

There is no thought that can distract him, there is nothing else that deserves his attention. Not even Wada’s appeal to Tas in Lausanne regarding the doping case that engulfed him has been able to stop his incredible ride. And that, precisely, is the detail that is most chilling. Sinner is demonstrating an uncommon resilience, he has an insane desire to prove to the whole world that he has earned his success and that it is certainly not thanks to that infinitesimal dose of Clostebol found in his urine in the spring that has opened wide for him the doors of tennis Olympus.

Those who know him know that, however, at the same time, he is suffering. And a lot of it, too. For it cannot be easy to bear the pressure he is instead tolerating egregiously, or to accept the idea that his moral integrity has been called into question because of a serious but certainly unintentional mistake. He has had everyone’s eyes on him for months now, yet he continues to render as if nothing is wrong.

Sinner to “thrill,” he tried his best

Not even his team ever takes their eyes off him, as is clear from a hilarious video that has been circulating on social media in recent hours. A clip that makes us breathe a sigh of relief, in which Jannik seems, at least on the surface, serene and carefree.

The video was shot in Riyadh, where Sinner is playing the Six Kings Slam tournament. It is presumed that the footage dates from the day before his debut against Daniil Medvedev and that the Italian was engaged in a training session, or had just finished practicing. The fact remains that while the rest of his team was doing something else, he was doing something singular.

In the video, he is seen walking on the edge, so to speak, along the line of the field, as if he were ideally walking on a rope suspended in the void and had to be very careful not to fall down. But most hilariously, Panichi and Badio can be seen observing him, at one point, with great curiosity, as if wondering what the heck he was doing. And the skit, needless to say, immediately turned to gold for the people on social media.
