La Liga, day 38: predictions on matches on Sunday, May 26.

Liga, all positions have crystallized and there’s nothing left to decide. Eyes on the Sevilla match between the hosts and Barcelona: predictions.

In La Liga, with ninety minutes left to play, the positions have almost all crystallized and the most important verdicts have already been decided.

The 4 teams that will participate in the next Champions League, in addition to the newly crowned Spanish champions Real Madrid, are Barcelona, Girona and Atletico Madrid. The blaugrana managed to defend at least the second place preventing a possible counter-overtaking of the Catalan cousins: with the three consecutive victories over Real Sociedad, Almeria and Rayo Vallecano, Xavi’s team rose to 82 points, making less bitter a season that has reserved few satisfactions. In the last match in which the former midfielder will sit on the Catalan club’s bench (his farewell is official), Barça will try to close with a victory at home to Sevilla, which has been losing them all since reaching mathematical salvation: three defeats in a row for Quique Sanchez Flores’ team, a distant relative of the one that exactly a year ago won its seventh Europa League. Goals, on the night at the “Sanchez Pizjuan,” should not be lacking.

A week ago Mallorca needed only a draw against Almeria to celebrate salvation. The non-win of third-last Cadiz made fans of the Balearic club, which will also play in the top flight next year, rejoice. Getafe, on the other hand, is long-saved: the Madrid men, led by José Bordalas, have collected six more points than Mallorca, and it would be no surprise if they split the stakes in this match.

The predictions on the other matches

Despite a tribulated season, Celta Vigo made it through to keep their category. For Valencia, on the other hand, the Europa dream ended too soon, although the goal of Ruben Baraja’s men was to do better than last year, and the goal was achieved.

The Galicians are fresh off two wins in a row – Athletic Bilbao and Granada – and could close on a high note in a match where, of motivation, the guests don’t have much. Las Palmas and Alaves also have nothing more to ask of this league: both have avoided relegation and will probably face each other openly, without too many calculations. The Basques should be able to take away at least a point.
