Roma-Genoa, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions.

by Martin

Roma-Genoa is a match valid for the thirty-seventh day of Serie A and is played on Sunday at 8:45 pm: odds, predictions, live TV, streaming.

Two big disappointments in the space of a few days. First the elimination from the Europa League after having long cherished the dream of a comeback against Bayer Leverkusen, then the stark defeat in Bergamo in the league (2-1) in the direct clash with Atalanta, which made Roma slip – perhaps for good – out of the top five. Qualification for the next Champions League is therefore increasingly distant: the Bergamasks – on the pitch 24 hours earlier in Lecce and +3 in the standings – still have to make up the match with Fiorentina.

At the time of writing, the gap between the Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi is still 3 points, but La Dea may have already closed the games definitively by winning in Salento. At that point Daniele De Rossi’s team would only have to defend sixth place and “cheer” Atalanta in the Europa League final, scheduled for next week in Dublin. Yes, because should Gasperini’s men get the better of Bayer Leverkusen and finish outside the top four in the league, even sixth place would put a pass to the cup with the big ears up for grabs. Precisely for this reason, Roma must watch out for the possible overtaking of Lazio’s “cousins,” who after their success with Empoli are only a pasting away.

De Rossi, in this regard, cannot miss the match with Genoa: the Rossoblù, now saved for a long time, however, do not give the impression that they are already on vacation and this is shown by the two victories in the last three days against Sassuolo and Cagliari, two teams on paper more motivated as they are still in the middle of the fight not to be relegated.

Roma-Genoa: the latest lineup news

De Rossi is again struggling with the doubt Dybala. The Argentine is not 100%, he will do everything to be there but his presence is by no means a foregone conclusion: in case of forfeit, space for Baldanzi. On the right, in defense, Kristensen seems to be ahead of Celik, while in midfield Cristante is favored over Bove.

On the other side, Gilardino is expected to confirm the same eleven that prevailed last Sunday over Sassuolo. In attack the Retegui-Gudmundsson pair, on the flanks instead will act Sabelli and Martin.

The prediction

Genoa is honoring the championship despite being safe for several days and, thanks to its game organization, should be able to make things difficult for a Roma that appeared to be in a psychophysical decline. Giallorossi slightly favored in a match in which the guests are also likely to score: in the last seven rounds, only on one occasion have Alberto Gilardino’s men gone scoreless.
