Nice-PSG and Reims-Marseille, Ligue 1: live TV, likely formations, predictions

by Thorsten

Nice-PSG and Reims-Marseille are two rematches of the 32nd day of Ligue 1 and are played on Wednesday at 9 p.m.: live TV, streaming, probable formations, predictions.

Out of the Champions League and with the league already in the bag, PSG took a break on the evening when the Parc des Princes crowd said goodbye to Kylian Mbappé, who will leave the French capital in the summer to settle, most likely, at Real Madrid. Luis Enrique’s team, evidently still shaken by the elimination from the cup with big ears by means of Borussia Dortmund, ended up cashing its second defeat in this Ligue 1, surrendering 3-1 to Toulouse.

While waiting to play in the French Cup final with Lyon, a trophy that could allow them to make the Double, the Parisians have to make up the match with Nice, postponed two weeks ago to allow Mbappé and his teammates to prepare for the Champions League match. The Rossoneri hope to find the same PSG as last Sunday, as they are still fighting for a place in the top four. Francesco Farioli’s men, thanks to their two victories with Strasbourg and Le Havre, have moved to within -4 of fourth-placed Brest and can still have their say, although a vibrant direct clash with Lille awaits them in the last round.

The Prediction

Nice already beat PSG in the first leg and another success, given the Parisians’ lack of motivation, is not science fiction. Expect at least two goals overall.

Nice-PSG

probable lineups.

NICE (4-3-3): Bulka; Lotomba, Todibo, Dante, Bard; Sanson, Ndayishimiye, Thuram; Cho, Moffi, Boga.
PSG (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Beraldo, Nuno Mendes; Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Dembélé, Gonçalo Ramos, Kolo Muani.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-1

Marseille quickly forgot the elimination from the Europa League and on Sunday overwhelmed Lorient 3-1: 2 goals from the usual Aubameyang and one from Gigot thus keep alive the hopes of the team coached by Jean-Louis Gasset, currently eighth but only three lengths behind the Lens-Lyon pairing.

Now it is imperative to win the next two games and hope: in case of a tied finish the goal difference would not be favorable to Marseille, which is therefore obliged to score as many goals as possible. The Phocéens on the road particularly suffer but Reims should not be an insurmountable obstacle, far from it. The red-and-whites saved themselves early, but failed to reach their Europe goal: disappointing results in recent months forced the club to exonerate coach Still and now it’s up to Samba Diawara to ferry them through the upcoming matches. Reims hasn’t won in seven days and comes from a 1-1 draw with Brest.

The Prediction

An away match not the easiest for a Marseille that has often disappointed this year away from the Velodrome. If the goal is Europe, however, Aubameyang and his teammates cannot afford any missteps: guests slightly favored in a match in which both are likely to score.

The probable lineups of Reims-Marseille

REIMS (4-3-3): Diouf; Koudou, Agbadou, Abdelhamid, de Smet; Munetsi, Stambouli, Teuma; Ito, Diakité, Khadra.
MARSEILLE (3-4-3): Pau Lopez; Mbemba, Gigot, Balerdi; Clauss, Onana, Veretout, Garcia; Sarr, Moumbagna, Aubameyang.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-2
