Manchester City v Borussia Dortmund is a match for the first second leg of the Champions League
MANCHESTER CITY – BORUSSIA DORTMUND | Wednesday 9pm
Manchester City’s Champions League journey began as we all expected, and that was with a win. The four-nil win over Sevilla in their debut match gave a further signal to the whole of Europe: Guardiola’s team can really aspire to win the event this year, not only because they have one of the best coaches in the world on the bench, who also has a valuable squad. But also because, finally, the Citizens have a real striker in front of them, one of those who turns every ball he passes in the area into gold: Haaland, in fact, started his European journey with a double and does not want to stop.
Few doubts, in short, about what the final result should be. Not least because, it must be emphasised, Borussia Dortmund are a different team to the one we have been used to seeing over the past few seasons. Moreover, in the last Bundesliga round, the yellow-and-whites lost badly at home to Leipzig after a good Champions League debut against Copenhagen. But let’s talk about Copenhagen, the bottom team of the grouping, who will not create problems for anyone, neither at home nor away. At least on paper that is the case.
The Prediction
Manchester City will have no problem against a Borussia side that can do very little in the face of the technical and physical might of Guardiola’s team. Also watch out for the classic goal of the former Haaland, who was rested at the weekend due to the Premier League break and who has no intention of stopping what he started from day one in England. Race to at least three goals overall, of course.
