Sporting CP-Tottenham is a Champions League second leg match: live TV, formations, predictions

SPORTING CP – TOTTENHAM | Tuesday 6.45pm

There is only one previous match between the two teams and that was over a decade ago in a friendly. Then Sporting and Tottenham have never faced each other and it could safely be described as an unprecedented challenge. Indeed, it is. Two teams that won on their Champions League debut: the hosts laid down the law on the Frankfurt pitch, while the guests won in the final against Tudor’s Marseille in a match that, perhaps, would have had a different ending without the expulsion of Frenchman Mbemba. But that matters little now, as they both want to fly at the top of the group with full points. And the fact that the English did not take to the pitch at the weekend because the Premier League, in honour of the Queen, came to a halt, could be an advantage for the Italian coach’s men.

Who, you know, put everything on the pitch in a physical aspect in every match. The Apulian is a hammer and demands the maximum otherwise his idea of a game fails. In short, it could be an advantage to be rested, even though Sporting did not have all that much trouble in the league against Portimonese, who were beaten 4-0: the Portuguese thus posted their third win in a row without conceding a goal. In short, the moment is definitely positive for the home team.

The Prediction

There are two teams on the pitch, however, with clearly different values. On paper, the English team appears to be stronger, which has been reinforced in the summer market. A Sporting affirmation therefore appears difficult. The challenge, therefore, in a match of at least two goals in total, could see an affirmation of the troop led by the Italian coach Antonio Conte.
