Serie A soccer market: ‘Juve, functional purchases; Napoli, unnecessary spending’

by Mark

In a few hours the winter soccer market will come to a close: multiple voices agree that Juve have completed more functional purchases.

Libero journalist Fabrizio Biasin and Novara’s general manager Pietro Lo Monaco spoke to TvPlay’s microphones to comment on the major Serie A winter soccer market strikes: both believe Juve has moved better than all other teams.

Lo Monaco especially applauds the purchase of Alcaraz: “The Argentine is a very good player. A 2002 ex Racing de Avellaneda, a fairly complete midfielder who can be used from inside right and also central. He has all the qualities to play in Italy. He has physicality, running and technique so he can impose himself in our league: Juve has made a good strike; in general Juve has only made functional purchases.”

Instead, Lo Monaco criticized Fiorentina’s market: “Gudmundsson is a very good player, but what does Fiorentina need? The Viola already made a mistake in the summer by buying Beltran as a central striker when he is actually more of a second striker. I think the Italian team needs a real center forward… “

Best buys of the winter soccer market: “Good for Juve with Alcaraz and Djaló “

Biasin doesn’t think it makes sense to grade Inter and Juve’s winter market. “The big teams that worked well in the summer are already working for next season,” the Libero journalist commented. “Juve made a big splash by anticipating Inter on Tiago Djaló… “

“Inter, on the other hand, blocked Taremi and let’s see if they now block Zielinski as well,” Biasin continued. “Right now, the two clubs have put the patches they needed. There is no longer a January market to become strong, but the main purchases are made in perspective: we start working for next season.”

Lo Monaco also spoke of a lackluster winter soccer market, partly justifying the lack of courage of the Italians: “The January market should not be done to operate by force, but to go and fix in a judicious and intelligent way the gaps that were recorded in the first part of the championship. Then I think it is right to think also about the following season by going to evaluate possible insertions.”

Finally, Lo Monaco again criticized De Laurentiis’s market: “Napoli has made superfluous blows that I don’t know what they can add. Ngonge is a good player but he can only play as an alternative to Politano. They spent 30 million on Lindstrom, who is a talented player, and they never give him continuity. “
