Sinner, at last the arcane has been revealed. There’s a very specific reason he persists in doing it, and you’ll find it hard to believe what it is.
He doesn’t pull his punches one bit. He is genuine, he is true, he is sincere. Nor does he seem “unreachable” like other champions who walk without touching the ground. In fact, to see him like this he could very well pass for the classic boy-next-door. The easygoing one, the one you can ask anything of, always courteous and attentive to others.
And that, but not only that, is the real great strength of Jannik Sinner, the South Tyrolean tennis player who last year exploded once and for all, establishing himself as a potential new world No. 1. A 22-year-old like there are thousands who, despite being one of the most incredible talents of his generation, simply knew how to remain himself. All the more reason to love him and cheer for him, especially since he seems so incredibly close to the fans. He never backs down when someone sitting in the front rows asks him for a selfie or an autograph. He is always so helpful, and this, inevitably, has made the audience love him even more.
We are not at all surprised, therefore, that Sinner mania runs rampant everywhere. That in London they dedicate bespoke pizzas to him and that Masterchef puts together a menu to pay tribute to him and to do justice to his greatness. Because he cares about the fans as much as the fans care about him.
Sinner, it all makes sense now: he does it for this reason
There’s a very specific reason, anyway, if he does it. If he is always so attentive to his supporters and never misses an opportunity to “reward” their faith. A reason he personally unveiled a few days ago during a live telephone link with Tg1.
