Sinner stripper takes this one too: Alcaraz is black

by Michael

Sinner cleans up everything he finds along his path: Alcaraz is left high and dry once again.

In London they dedicated to him a special pizza stuffed with everything a bit: broccoli and mozzarella, sausage and roasted potatoes. In San Gregorio Armeno, on the other hand, they are fighting over the few remaining pieces of the nativity figurine that has his own likeness, complete with unruly ringlets and a cap to contain his thick red mop.

And the roar with which San Siro had greeted him, on the occasion of Milan-Borussia Dortmund, was just a taste of his success. That he would become so popular in Italy, at home, was easy. We could not expect, however, that the rest of the world would also fall in love with the tennis player born in the mountains of Trentino Alto Adige. What has happened in the past few hours, however, testifies indissolubly that the passion for Jannik Sinner knows no boundaries. Everyone, in Europe as well as on other continents, is now crazy about the tennis player who in recent months has brought down, one after the other, all the big names on the circuit.

No one deserved more than him, therefore, to receive the award he was given as part of the Atp Awards. According to the Association of Tennis Professionals, the San Candido native was, in 2023, the fans’ favorite tennis player. An accolade that will undoubtedly have honored him and would be an understatement to call prestigious. Especially if you take a step back and find out who, before him, received this same title.

Fans’ favorite tennis player is Sinner: the Atp says so

Fans Favourite 2023, think about it, was awarded for 19 years in a row to the king par excellence, the greatest of all time: the legendary Roger Federer. He stopped receiving it, of course, the moment he decided to hang up his racket and exit the stage.

In the year of his farewell, it was Rafael Nadal who won the label of the most beloved tennis player by fans around the world. In the last two decades, in short, not just any two tennis players have won it, but two heavy hitters who deserved it as much for their unquestionable talent as for their explosive personalities.

Which only makes it all the more significant, precisely, that this time it was Jannik Sinner’s turn. And who knows how badly his friend and antagonist Carlos Alcaraz, who like the South Tyrolean has entered the hearts of the fans but not so much, evidently, as to have earned the honor that fell to the South Tyrolean, must have felt about it. The best way, in short, to end an extraordinary year on a high note. And, hopefully, not unrepeatable.
