Copenhagen-Galatasaray, Champions League: tv, odds, predictions

by Martin

Copenaghen-Galatasaray is a match from the sixth day of the Champions League group stage and is played Tuesday at 9 p.m.: tv, predictions.

Whoever wins goes to the round of 16. A draw, on the other hand, could be risky for both. Because in case of a Manchester United win against Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Galatasaray would be bypassed by the Red Devils. Verdicts still (almost) all to be sanctioned in Group A, except for first place, which is now owned by Bayern Munich.

The standings, with one round to go in the group stage, say this: Bayern on 13 points – first and already qualified for the round of 16 – Copenhagen and Galatasaray on 5, Manchester United stuck on 4. In the first leg match, the Danes and Turks drew 2-2. This means that in case of a draw the discriminating factor to be taken into account would be goal difference (for now the Danes are ahead, -1 vs. -2). Both Jacob Neestrup’s and Okan Buruk’s men are unlikely to spare themselves in the Parken match, knowing that a draw can take them out. In the last period Copenhagen has done better in the Champions League than in Superligaen, where following two defeats in a row against Viborg and Aarhus it slipped to third place behind Midtjylland and Brondby. In the cup, on the other hand, two weeks ago it had snatched a very valuable point at home to Bayern Munich (0-0), another noteworthy result after the resounding comeback victory (4-3) against the Red Devils.

A draw could kill off both

After a few setbacks, Galatasaray started grinding out victories at home again (three in a row after the Hatay defeat). And now the Giallorossi fans are dreaming of a pass to the knockout stage, which their team has not participated in for 10 years.

Icardi and his teammates in the last cup match had reeled Manchester United back in after going down by two goals at the beginning of the second half: decisive goals by Ziyech and Akturkoglu, scored within a few minutes (3-3). A draw that tastes like a victory, more or less like the one Galatasary managed to win last October at Old Trafford. Buruk will be able to field the best possible lineup: Icardi, still in goal last Sunday against Adana Demirspor, will be supported by Ziyech, Akturkoglu and Zaha. A few defections, on the other hand, are recorded at home in Copenhagen: absent are Khocholava, Meling and Clem.

The Prediction

Neither Copenhagen nor Galatasaray will make any calculations, knowing that a draw is a result no one needs. Prediction more open than ever, then, in a challenge that could provide quite a few emotions: we expect at least one goal on each side in the match at the Parken Stadion. The Turks should in any case manage to avoid defeat in one of the most important stadiums in their history. In 2000, it was in the Danish capital that they won their first continental title, the Uefa Cup, beating Arsenal in the final.

The probable lineups of Copenhagen-Galatasaray

COPENAGHEN (4-3-3): Grabara; Jelert, Vavro, Boilesen, Diks; Diogo Gonçalves, Falk, Lerager; Elyounoussi, Claesson, Achouri.
GALATASARAY (4-2-3-1): Muslera; Boey, Nelsson, Bardakçı, Angeliño; Ndombélé, Torreira; Ziyech, Aktürkoğlu, Zaha; Icardi.
