A separate discourse must be made, however, for Camila Giorgi, who like the Roman tennis player has been stationary for several weeks. An injury prevented her from closing the season together with her colleagues and participating in the Billie Jean King Cup, which we know was won, then, no matter how hard Italy tried, by the Canadian national team.
Despite the fact that the former number 1 of the Bel Paese “rested,” she did not want to give up her vacation. So much so that, for the past few days, she has been posting rather frequently photos of her in some warm but undefined place. The fact that she is in a bikini, however, suggests that she is far away and was evidently craving a mild climate and some relaxation.

According to Weibo reports, Camila would be one of 6 athletes who have not yet confirmed, at this time, their participation in the Australian Open. The others are Petra Kvitova, Bianca Andrescuu, Irina-Camelia Begu, Tatjana Maria and Belinda Bencic, whose absence was predictable, as she is expecting.
But what’s up with Giorgi instead? Could it be that she has not registered for her first Slam, with the deadline set for today of all days, Monday, December 4? We doubt, assuming what Weibo reports is true, that she has forgotten. Instead, it is more likely that she made an informed decision and that her absence is related, as a result, to some issue that we are not aware of. And which has, however, frightened the fans, who fear that something serious may be hiding behind this unexpected absence.
