Monza-Juventus, Serie A: streaming, likely lineups, predictions

by Martin

Monza-Juventus is a match of the fourteenth day of Serie A and is played on Friday at 20:45: odds, predictions, TV, streaming.

Monza and the Brianteo do not stir up happy memories for Juventus, which last season was defeated both in the first leg and in the return by Raffaele Palladino’s team on its first Serie A adventure. The Bianconeri even failed to score even a single goal against the Brianzoli, while cashing in a total of three. Massimiliano Allegri’s team then took revenge in the Coppa Italia, beating the Biancorossi 2-1 at the Stadium.

The past should therefore serve as a warning: on the Monza bench Palladino always sits and after some initial difficulties Pessina and his teammates have started to get into gear, settling in the left side of the standings, just three lengths from Europe. Since the beginning of September, the Lombardi have lost only one match, taking advantage of a calendar that is far from impossible (the only big with which they avoided defeat was Lazio). Between Torino and Cagliari in the last two days there have been two draws: despite conceding goals for four games in a row, Monza confirms itself as a difficult opponent to bend. It will take the cynical and solid Juve we are accustomed to this year to make the full haul at the U-Power Stadium and overtake Inter again at the top of the standings. Last Sunday, the Bianconeri yes saw the streak of five consecutive victories interrupted but they also slowed down the Nerazzurri’s run (1-1) in a big match that offered very little spectacle.

Monza-Juventus: latest lineup news

Palladino is not expected to change the set-up of his Monza, confirming the 3-4-2-1 with the Mota Carvalho-Colpani pair in the three-quarter, behind the only forward Colombo. In doubt is the call-up of Vignato, who is not at his best. In defense will play D’Ambrosio, Caldirola and Pablo Marì, on the flanks instead present Ciurria and Kyriakopoulos.

On the other side, Allegri finds Locatelli again after the Nicolussi Caviglia experiment against Inter. Instead, Cambiaso will be positioned on the right, while the two inside players will be McKennie and Rabiot. Confirmations in defense although Danilo, returning after a month and a half, will be back on the bench. The attack is expected to be composed of Chiesa and Vlahovic, who will be undermined by Milik and Kean.

The prediction

Brianza, like last year, could conceal quite a few pitfalls for Juventus: Monza at home boasts the best defense in the tournament along with AC Milan (only three goals conceded) and may prove to be a particularly hostile opponent for the Bianconeri thanks to its game organization. Allegri’s team remains favored: in the end, the three points should come but the total goals are likely to be less than three.

The probable formations of Monza-Juventus

MONZA (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; D’Ambrosio, Pablo Marì, Caldirola; Ciurria, Pessina, Gagliardini, Kyriakopoulos; Colpani, Mota; Colombo.
JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Rugani; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Vlahovic, Chiesa.
