Slovenia-Kazakistan, qualificazioni Euro 2024: tv, probabili formazioni, pronostici

by Michael

Slovenia-Kazakhstan is a match valid for the tenth day of Group H of Euro 2024 qualification and is played Monday at 8:45 p.m.: predictions.

In Group H there is still a verdict to be sealed. Who will keep company with Denmark, which qualified as first thanks to last Friday’s success against Slovenia? Two selections remain in the mix for second place, Matjaz Kek’s, which currently has 19 points, and surprising Kazakhstan, just a pasting behind.

The match in Ljubljana thus becomes a sort of play-off, in which the Slovenians obviously have two out of three results at their disposal in order to return to the final stage of a European championship. Sesko and his teammates undoubtedly start with the favor of the odds, having already beaten the Kazakhs (1-2) on the first day last March, but they will have to be careful with the pressure, which can play tricks in such a situation. Kazakhstan, in fact, in these qualifiers – just as it had already given a glimpse in the last edition of the Nations League – has shown that it is a “real” team, capable of challenging more experienced and qualitatively superior selections. The victory over Denmark, achieved on the second day thanks to a heroic comeback, is an example of this. The representative team led by Russian Magomed Adiev remained in the game until the last thanks to October’s success with Finland (1-2) and last Friday brought home its second consecutive victory against San Marino (3-1).

Kazakhstan dreams of a breakthrough

Should Kazakhstan fail to make a splash in Slovenia, it is still sure to play in the March play-offs. The European dream, in short, is still possible.

It’s a historic night for Slovenia, too. With a point it would be done and the small country that rose from the ashes of former Yugoslavia would return to the final stage of a European championship for the first time since 2000. Kek and his men are coming off a narrow defeat to Denmark in Copenhagen, in which they managed to hold their own against a stronger selection (2-1). However, the positive series was broken: Slovenia was coming off four consecutive victories.

The prediction

The most interesting match of the evening along with that between Ukraine and Italy. Kazakhstan is a selection to be taken with a grain of salt, but Slovenia has something more and starts favored, also thanks to the field factor. Both are likely to score.

The probable lineups of Slovenia-Kazakhstan

SLOVENIA (4-4-2): Oblak; Karnicnik, Blazic, Bijol, Janza; Verbic, Gnezda Cerin, Elsnik, Mlakar; Vipotnik, Sesko.
KAZAKHSTAN (5-3-2): Shatskiy; Kairov, Bystrov, Marochkin, Alip, Vorogovskiy; Beysebekov, Zuev, Chesnokov; Aymbetov, Samorodov.
