Hertha Berlin-Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga: lineups, predictions

by Thorsten

Hertha Berlin-Borussia Dortmund is a Bundesliga match of the fourth day and is played on Saturday at 15:30: line-ups, predictions, TV and streaming.

Borussia Dortmund’s unbeaten run has already ended and they are losing ground to Bayern Munich, the only team with a full points tally after the first three Bundesliga matches. Last Saturday, Edin Terzic’s yellow-and-whites lost in resounding fashion to newly promoted Werder Bremen, somewhat replicating what they had done seven days earlier in the away match in Freiburg. This time, however, Reus and his team-mates were on the wrong side: leading 2-0 until the end of regulation ninety, they conceded three goals in the dying minutes. Werder’s incredible comeback, signed by Buchanan, Schmidt and Burke, is somehow destined to remain in history.

While Terzic continues to wonder about the possible causes of this collapse, probably dictated by the not yet optimal condition of many players, there is already another opponent to face. Borussia Dortmund is on stage in the capital against Hertha Berlin, a team that does not seem to want to learn from past mistakes. Reduced from a salvation achieved only through the promotion/relegation play-off, the capital club is unable to change gear even after the umpteenth change of technical guidance.

The management has returned to talk about investments, but so far the results leave something to be desired: two defeats – three if we also include the elimination from the German Cup against Eintracht Braunschweig after penalty kicks – against Union Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach and a draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. With just one point in the table, Sandro Schwarz’s men are momentarily third bottom: worse than them are only Bochum and Bayer Leverkusen, still on zero points.

The Prediction

Hertha Berlin’s disappointing start, appearing inconsistent especially from an offensive point of view, seems to ward off the prospect of another possible trap match for Borussia Dortmund. Ultimately, this time one can give confidence to the yellow-and-whites, who should return with the three points in their pocket from their ‘trip’ to the Olympiastadion. The total number of goals could be less than four, taking into account Hertha’s unprolific attack.

The likely Hertha Berlin-Borussia Dortmund line-up

  • HERTHA BERLIN (4-3-3): Christensen; Kenny, Dardai, Kempf, Plattenhardt; Tousart, Sunjic, Serdar; Lukebakio, Kanga, Ejuke.
  • BORUSSIA DORTMUND (3-4-3): Kobel; Süle, Hummels, Schlotterbeck; Wolf, Bellingham, Özcan, Guerreiro; Adeyemi, Modeste, Reus.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-2
