Klopp has a golden opportunity this weekend to move into second place by himself, taking advantage of the London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham, who are 13 points behind the Reds.
A visit to Anfield Road will be paid by West Ham, who, like Liverpool, were engaged in the Europa League on Thursday, obtaining a comfortable victory against the Serbian side Backa Topola (3-1).
Kudus exults with teammates
The cup game allowed the Hammers to turn the page after their first defeat of the season to Manchester City, last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at the London Stadium. A defeat that was hard to avoid but prevented David Moyes’ men from keeping pace with the others (Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham) by staying level on 10 points.
