Wins in pre-season, you know, count relatively. Inter Milan failed to beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in their first friendly of the Japanese tour, but there was no shortage of positive notes for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.
Against the Saudis, two of the new signings, Cuadrado and Frattesi, were among the big stars of this summer market. The former Juventus outfielder showed, just in case we needed it, that he still has a lot to give, while the player who arrived from Sassuolo immediately showed what he is made of, with his recoveries and continuous insertions. Lautaro Martinez, on the other hand, had wet dust: in the second half the Inter striker repeatedly came close to scoring, wasting at least two limpid goal chances. For Inter it was only the third test after those played at the Pinetina against Lugano and Pergolettese, both of which ended in a goleada. Inzaghi will have further answers in the luxury friendly against Psg, the most awaited of this Japanese trip. Probably conditioned by the chaotic Mbappé affair – the striker remained in France as a ‘punishment’ after refusing to renew his contract – the Parisians did not go beyond a draw with Al-Nassr (0-0) and last Friday even lost against Cerezo Osaka, a J1 League team.
The too many changes made in the second half by Luis Enrique evidently altered the balance, allowing the opponents to take courage and score two goals in 10 minutes (2-3). Without its best player, after all, it is obvious that Psg loses something, especially at offensive level. While waiting to see what will happen with Mbappé, the Spanish coach has reportedly requested Barcelona’s Dembélé, but the negotiation is uphill.

Psg have given the impression in their two Japanese outings that they are still an open building site and have fewer certainties than Inter. It cannot be ruled out that the Nerazzurri will avoid defeat in a match in which both teams should score on at least one occasion
