Conference League, the own goal is ranked among the top five most beautiful in history. The video is truly unbelievable
While most of the teams, at least the most important ones, have recently resumed preparation, there are other clubs that are instead in the game to earn access to the next European cups. Yes, the preliminaries have already started and important matches are also being played around Europe, with results in some cases truly surprising.
In this specific case, however, we are talking about the Conference League preliminary match between St. Patricks and Dudelange. In the end it ended 3-2 for the guests who made it through the round, but what the goalkeeper of the Luxembourg team did was something that will go down in history. A sensational own goal, below you can find the video, where Desprez himself failed to read the trajectory of the ball. Sending it resoundingly towards his own goal. In short, everything to see.
Conference League, the own goal is for the enquiry office
It’s 22′ into the first half and the visitors are leading one-nil. A harmless ball bellows up and into the Dudelange penalty area. The goalkeeper comes out, but does not realise that he may not be able to wait inside the sixteen metres for the ball.
So here’s the stroke of ‘genius’: he tries to hit the ball with his head to send it forward, but even then he can’t read the trajectory of the ball perfectly, and then the patatrack is served: the ball bounces off the back of his head and rises up again, but in the opposite direction he had hoped. So it goes into its own goal. St. Patricks in this way re-entered the game, and gained courage, but in the end failed to succeed in overturning the situation. Desprez can now laugh about this mistake, a huge problem would have been if it had cost them an elimination.
