Norway’s Eliteserien is back on after the national team break between the Nations League and European Championship qualifiers. The Eliteserien is one of the very few tournaments in the Old Continent that does not stop at this time of year, as it is not played in winter due to very low temperatures.
After eleven days there is only one team in the lead: Bodo/Glimt. After a disappointing season, Kjetil Knudsen’s men are off to a great start and have already built up a ten-point lead over second-placed Brann. The gap could be further increased at the end of this round: Brann fell 3-1 at home to Viking in the first match, and in the event of a victory at home to Stromgodset, the yellow-and-whites would go as high as +13. For Bodo, who have won 31 of the 33 points available, the away match should not be a threat against a team that is floating above the relegation zone and aiming for yet another salvation. Another prolific match is on the horizon: there is never a shortage of goals in Knudsen’s line-up, which boasts an absurd average of around three goals per game. Reigning champions Molde, who are a stone’s throw away from first place, will also do all they can to get back to winning ways. After the setback at home to Odd, Erling Moe’s team should get the joy of three points back against Haugesund, who have failed to beat Molde since 2015.

Rosenborg’s Holse
The green-and-whites have only scored seven points in 10 matches, all of which have come at home, where they have won two, drawn one and lost two. It would be no surprise if they manage to snatch at least a point against Odd, who are always unpredictable away. Rosenborg came from two positive results, beating HamKam 4-0 and drawing 2-2 with Stabaek. The streak should continue against Sarpsborg, who after a surprising start are coming back into the ranks. Finally, a well-balanced match between Tromso and Stabaek is on the horizon, who could share the spoils.
