Andorra v Switzerland, Euro 2024 qualifiers: TV, odds,

by Mike

Andorra-Switzerland is a match from the third day of Euro 2024 qualifying Group I and is played on Friday at 20:45: tv, predictions.

The hierarchies seem to be already defined in Euro 2024 Qualifying Group I, with two teams with full points after the first two days: Switzerland and Romania.

The Swiss, big favourites for first place, did not disappoint expectations, starting their path to the European Championship in Germany with two clear-cut victories against Belarus and Israel. Eight goals in total were scored in 180 minutes by the Red Swiss, who also managed to keep their goal unbeaten. In the next two matches, Italy’s executioners in the last World Cup qualifiers could even already close the accounts, as they will face the uncompetitive Andorra, probable bottom of the group, and then in the direct clash Romania. Which, apart from the good start, remains a couple of steps below Switzerland. Under the leadership of Murat Yakin, who has been confirmed at the helm of the national team despite the 6-1 defeat in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar, the ‘Nati’ resume their journey from the Principality of Andorra.

The objective of the men led by former goalkeeper Koldo is certainly not to qualify for the final phase of the European Championship, a goal that is frankly unrealistic.

But to continue to grow a movement that has made significant strides in recent years. In fact, the draw (1-1) in the second day of qualifying at home to Kosovo almost tasted like a victory, allowing Andorra to at least move up the rankings. The debut, on the other hand, had coincided with a fairly predictable defeat against Romania (0-2). Since Koldo has been at the helm of this small selection since 2010, Andorra has only managed 10 victories in 106 matches. There are three illustrious absentees in Yakin’s squad, who has to do without Embolo, Widmer and Itten. Basel’s Amdouni is expected to start.

The prediction

Switzerland is clearly superior to Andorra’s selection, and the higher quality of the Swiss in all departments will certainly make the difference. Yakin’s national team should be able to score between three and six goals in the Andorran away game and secure first place.
