Manchester City-Inter official line-ups: scorers’ predictions, cautions and shooters from the Champions League final. The latest tips.
Here we go, the wait is about to end. Almost all set at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium for the Manchester City-Inter kick-off. The stakes are high: they face each other for history. Whoever wins, in fact, secures a place in the sun among the Olympians of international football, putting his or her hands on the Cup with the Big Ears. Simone Inzaghi’s last doubts on the eve of the game have been dispelled: Brozovic will play in the box, while Edin Dzeko will partner Lautaro Martinez in attack, with Lukaku in the running.
No surprises in Manchester City’s ranks except for Walker’s forfeit, who will be replaced by Aké: Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan and Grealish will act in support of the Haaland striker. Here are all of Guardiola and Inzaghi’s choices:
- MANCHESTER CITY (3-2-4-1) Ederson; Aké, Ruben Dias, Aké; Stones, Rodri; Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland
- INTER (3-5-2) Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez
Manchester City-Inter, goalscorer prediction
City will clearly be the match. It could not be otherwise, given the quality of play expressed by Guardiola’s men, who throughout the competition have combined defensive imperviousness with a sometimes irresistible game. Inter’s defensive attentions will inevitably be focused on Haaland. That’s why on the three-quarter line interesting spaces could open up for City’s powerhouses: De Bruyne or Bernardo Silva, for example, have proved to be thorns in the side of opponents that Guardiola’s team has been able to pulverise. To speculate that one of the Portuguese or the Belgian could score does not seem to be utopian.
