Turkish Super Lig, Galatasaray could seal the title as early as today: news and predictions.
Turkey are three days away from the end of the championship, but the title race could come to an end as early as today, in the midweek round in which all seven matches are played at the same time (7pm). Galatasaray, packed with old Serie A acquaintances – the likes of Icardi, Mertens and Torreira were joined in February by former Roma player Zaniolo – could triumph for the 23rd time in their history if they win against Ankaragucu.
The team coached by former Inter midfielder Okan Buruk is now one step away from the finish line. The Giallorossi are five points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe, but can already count on the three points from the last day, which they won by forfeit: they should have faced Gaziantepspor but the club decided to withdraw last February following the tragic earthquake. That is why it will be enough to win in the Turkish capital to celebrate. Ankaragucu, who have just been eliminated from the Turkish Cup by Basaksehir, no longer have any concrete goals, although they will still need a few points for salvation. Galatasaray have won their last three matches without conceding a goal and should also be able to defeat Tolunay Kafkas’s team, which is also coming off cup exertions. Victory is also likely for Jorge Jesus’ Fenerbahçe, who have just qualified for the final of the national cup: the three points should not be a problem against Antalyaspor, who have won just once in their last six Super Lig matches and have salvation almost in their pockets.
The predictions for the other matches
A season to forget for reigning Turkish champions Trabzonspor, who currently occupy a depressing sixth place and are out of it. The greater motivation of Giresunspor, fighting for safety, could make the difference.

The team coached by the coach from Campania will only play in Europe next year if Fenerbahçe triumph in the Turkish Cup final, thus freeing up an extra place. Finally, Sivasspor, recently faced by Fiorentina in the Conference League, could avoid defeat. The red-and-whites must avoid relegation and should take at least a point against Konyaspor, who are going strong away from home but have no more goals.
