Maiorca-Cadice is a match on the thirty-fourth day of La Liga and is played Friday at 9 pm: lineups, predictions, TV and streaming.
In La Liga, there are still five matches to be played and the only verdict, for now, is the relegation of Elche, which sadly returns to the hell of the Segunda Division after a season spent as perennial bottom of the table and in which it was never even involved in the fight for salvation. As for the other two places, however, a bitter battle is on the horizon, one that is likely to last until the last round.
From thirteenth place down no one, as of today, is in possession of the arithmetical certainty of being able to play in Spain’s top league again next year. As many as seven teams are packed into just eight points, which is not that many out of fifteen still available. Among those most at risk of ending up downstairs is Cadiz, fifteenth but only one point ahead of third-last-place Getafe. Sergio’s men two weeks ago had returned to see the light, winning the direct clash with Valencia, but the very heavy defeat they suffered last Friday at home to Atletico Madrid (5-1) has thrown the yellow-and-blues back into despondency.
Cadice still in danger of relegation
One of the few reasons to smile is given by the calendar: between now and next June 4, Cadiz will only have to face one big one, Villarreal, currently in the running for Europe.
For the rest, many challenges within the reach of the Andalusians. Starting with the one with Mallorca, which despite not being mathematically safe yet is one step away from reaching its season goal, having already surpassed 40 points. Muriqi and his teammates, although they had a chance to even reinsert themselves in the race for seventh place, have been somewhat dragging their feet in recent weeks, picking up one point in three matches, the result of a home draw (1-1) with Athletic Bilbao. Mexican coach Javier Aguirre will have to do without the disqualified Raillo and Gonzalez, while Cadiz will be missing several players, including Marti, Cala, Ocampo and Garrido.
The prediction
The feeling is that Mallorca is unlikely to leave points on the street against a direct competitor. Indeed, they could take advantage of it to secure salvation once and for all: at home, moreover, the Rossoneri have lost only four games and have been unbeaten for more than two months. There is a good chance they will avoid defeat in a match of at least two total goals.
