In Group C Catanzaro and Crotone have practically closed the gap behind them, and the fight for the only place that gives direct promotion to Serie B is now a matter for the two Calabrian teams. The third in the standings is Pescara, in theory the other big in this round, which however has twelve points less than the red and blue sharks and has as its only objective to safeguard at least the third place.
In the post-match of the twenty-second day, in which Catanzaro continued their winning streak, reaching 60 points and moving up to +9 on the Pythagoreans, Crotone and Pescara clash. The match at the ‘Scida’ is somewhat of a last call for the Abruzzese, who in the event of a defeat would finish -15 from the men coached by Franco Lerda. Crotone have not lost since the painful derby defeat to the Giallorossi, and in the last three days they have collected as many victories. Last Saturday in Monopoli (1-2) Vitale and Chiricò handed another three crucial points to Lerda, who still wants to believe in a comeback.
Last November’s defeat to Catanzaro sank Alberto Colombo’s Pescara, who won on only one occasion in their next seven matches. Otherwise there have been many disappointments for the Delfino, who only broke the negative series a week ago by drawing 2-2 at the Adriatico against Latina. We will see, meanwhile, what will happen in the market. Crotone are waiting for reinforcements of depth, although this evening they will have to do without midfielder Petriccione, an absence that adds to that of Mogos. Colombo, on the other hand, has no formation problems, and will field the best possible eleven in Calabria.

At home Crotone have not scored as much as Catanzaro, a real goal machine, but they have the best home defence with only two goals conceded. And they have never lost in front of their home crowd and are favourites.
