Dejan Stankovic, who took over from Marco Giampaolo before the break, is trying to turn Samp’s fortunes around, but the situation remains dramatic despite a win in their first outing of 2023 against Sassuolo.
Rincon’s sending off against Napoli
The Ligurians surrendered to Napoli on Sunday, conceding their fifth defeat in their last six matches and remaining -6 from the salvation zone. Fiorentina, on the other hand, returned to success after the home draw with Monza, beating Sassuolo (2-1) with difficulty thanks to a penalty converted in the last minutes of the game by Nico Gonzalez. In the purple attack, Jovic should play in place of Cabral, while Stankovic will start new arrival Zanoli from the 1′.
The prediction
Florentin aren’t particularly shining and the match against Sampdoria – already defeated 2-0 in the championship in November – could turn out to be more complicated than expected. However, we bet on the Viola, who are perhaps more motivated than a team that is in serious danger of relegation and only has the championship on its mind at the moment. It cannot be ruled out that the blucerchiati will score at least one goal, facing a defence that has always been perforated in the last four official matches.
