Real Madrid’s season starts again in Valladolid, against the team owned by Ronaldo, who gave the Blancos fans much joy as a player. Carlo Ancelotti asked his team to restart at a fast pace, considering there are two points to make up against eternal rivals Barcelona.

Real Valladolid had closed with a clear defeat in Bilbao (3-0) but in front of their own public they have not lost since September. And they are fresh off three consecutive home victories that have allowed Pacheta’s men to climb to 13th place and move significantly further away from the relegation zone. Ancelotti will send almost all the starters onto the pitch. There is some doubt only for those players who were committed in Qatar until the last minute: from Modric to Camavinga, via Varane and Tchouaméni. Asensio, Benzema and Vinicius should play in attack, with Dani Ceballos in midfield in place of the experienced Croatian.

It may not go smoothly for Real Madrid, who return to the pitch after two months and with more than one key man back from World Cup exertions. In our opinion, the Blancos’ victory will eventually come, such is the gap between the two teams, but it will not be a clean sweep. The total goals are likely to be at least three.
