Benevento v Perugia, Serie B: streaming, odds, predictions

by Sabrina

Benevento-Perugia is a Serie B Week 19 match to be played on Monday at 15:00: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.

Only fourteenth the Campani, even confined to last place the Umbrians. The standings of Benevento and Perugia on the eve of the halfway mark in no way reflect the expectations of the two teams, both of which started last summer with the aim of at least repeating their participation in the playoffs.

The biggest disappointment is certainly represented by the Sanniti, who got bogged down in the lower part of the ranking and were forced to run for cover by changing coach after a very long series of matches without victories (eight) between September and November. Fabio Cannavaro, at his first experience on the bench of an Italian team, is trying to regain a minimum of balance, doing his utmost to bring Benevento back to a zone more in keeping with the value of the roster set up by the ever-ambitious president Vigorito. After a tumultuous start, the 2006 Ballon d’Or winner has managed to find his bearings, and the seven positive results in the last eight rounds prove it. Last Sunday the Giallorossi snatched a point in Modena (1-1), while in the previous two matches they had beaten Parma and Cittadella with minimal effort.

Benevento now have 22 points and thanks to the still very short classification can still legitimately aspire to the postseason. Perugia are also on the upswing, having just won a precious victory in their direct clash with Venezia, beaten 2-1 at the ‘Curi’. With Castori-bis, the music has changed and in six days the ‘biancorossi’ have lost only in the away match in Cagliari. The success against the lagoon players did not allow the Umbrians to leave the last place, but the playout zone is now just three lengths away.

Benevento-Perugia: the latest line-up news

The infirmary is gradually emptying but there are still numerous absences at Benevento: Cannavaro will not be able to count on Vokic, Letizia and Farias. Instead, Koutsoupias is back, who will flank Tello in the three-quarter. Improta-Veseli duel in defence

Castori

Castori

Rebus in Perugia’s rearguard, where Castori must choose between Angella and Rosi. Strizzoli and Olivieri will act in attack, while Kouan returns in midfield. The disqualified Curado is absent, and on the left it’s a toss-up between Lisi and Paz.

The prediction

Benevento are second to last in terms of home performances: they have barely won twice in front of their home crowd. Only one success instead for Perugia away from home. In any case, these are two teams that are recovering after a complicated period. With Castori on the bench, Perugia has regained solidity, and it will not be easy for the Campani to make the full haul: it cannot be ruled out that the guests will avoid defeat.
