Brescia-Parma is a Serie B Week 17 match to be played on Monday at 20:30: odds, predictions, TV and streaming
There are heavy points up for grabs in the ‘Rigamonti’ post-match between hosts Brescia and Parma, two ambitious teams who are going slowly and risk slipping out of the playoff zone. Pep Clotet’s Rondinelle are in sixth position and can take advantage of Genoa’s half-failure in Ascoli, to join them in fourth place and at the same time try to keep up the pace of Bari, who were unleashed against Modena yesterday.
The Lombard formation coached by the Spanish coach, however, is not going through a particularly positive period: in the last round they avoided defeat on the field of Cosenza only in the Cesarini zone thanks to a flash of Bianchi. It would have been the second knockout in a row after the one suffered at home against the other Calabrian side, Reggina. And going backwards, it is evident how Brescia went through a conspicuous decline from mid-September onwards, barely winning a game in the last ten days of the championship.
So many draws – six – and an attack that is struggling: only on two occasions since the 3-1 win against Modena have Mangraviti and his team-mates scored more than one goal. Parma are not smiling either, with one point less in the standings despite being perhaps the team best equipped for direct promotion to the A league. Fabio Pecchia’s ducals are not getting into gear despite having a very high level squad for the cadetteria, and against Benevento (0-1) in the midweek round they lost in front of their own public for the second time in a row. Since the victory against Reggina last 15 October, the Emilians have only managed to get the better of Como and Cittadella, and the last success away from the ‘Tardini’ dates back to three months ago.
Brescia v Parma: latest line-up info
It will most likely be Andrenacci defending Brescia’s goal, but the Brescia youngster is in the running against Lezzerini. In defence Adorni should be back, favoured over Australian Karacic – who was immediately on the pitch against Cosenza despite having just returned from the World Cup – and Cistana is also available again. A relay between Ayé and Bianchi in front, with the latter starting on 1′ after last Thursday’s goal. Some adjustments for Pecchia, who will rely on Man, Vazquez and Tutino in the back three, while in midfield Juric seems to be ahead of Estevez. On the right-hand side of defence there will be no Delprato, still not at his best, but one between Balogh and Coulibaly.
The prediction
The feeling is that the three points are needed most by Parma, who appeared in great difficulty against Benevento and whose game is struggling to take off. A further false step would further complicate the chase of the ducali against the first two, already quite distant. In any case, it will be a balanced challenge, between two teams that want to turn around and put the negative moment behind them. Both should score on at least one occasion. The first half could end in a draw and with very few goals.
