SUDTIROL – FROSINONE | Sunday 3:00 pm
Leading side Frosinone’s run was interrupted in the last round against Cagliari, a sign that the two-week break probably didn’t do the Ciociari much good. Trailing after a quarter of an hour, the Fabio Grosso-coached team had managed to overturn the Sardinians with Rohden and Insigne, but on the stroke of the seventh minute of added time came the cold shower of Lapadula’s penalty. It was a painless draw in any case, considering that Reggina, the Lazio’s big chaser, were stopped by Benevento, but it could have been an opportunity to stretch their lead and move to +7 from the Calabrians. The one against Cagliari last week was the first half-step of Frosinone in front of their own public, where before Sunday’s challenge they had always collected successes, among other things without conceding a single goal.
On the other hand, the Ciociari limped a bit on the away side, having suffered three defeats, the only ones in their championship. This time they will be in Bolzano against Pierpaolo Bisoli’s surprising Sudtirol. The Altoatesini are a different team from when the experienced Tuscan sits on the bench. Last season he achieved a sort of sporting miracle by saving Cosenza, who had been given up for dead only three months before. Sudtirol is eighth in the standings and comes from four consecutive draws, the last three all ending 2-2. More generally, they have not lost since August and at home have only surrendered to Venezia.
Sudtirol-Frosinone: latest line-up news
It will be Siega’s turn to replace the injured Carretta in Sudtirol. In the three-quarter the former Cittadella player will flank Mazzocchi and Rover. All three will support the only forward Odogwu in the 4-2-3-1 set up by Bisoli. Who in the meantime has announced other absences: Casiraghi and Davi will also be missing. There are two changes in the Frosinone side: Grosso will field Szyminski and Lulic in place of Lucioni and the disqualified Mazzitelli.
The Prediction
Bolzano is a hostile pitch, where Frosinone – who usually shine less on the road – will not pass easily. The ciociari will in any case avoid defeat in a match where the total number of goals could be at least three.
