Official line-up Cameroon-Serbia, victory is a must to keep hopes up for the round of 16: prediction of goalscorers, cautions and shooters

The second day of the group stage of Qatar 2022 comes to a close. The first of today’s four matches is a play-off of sorts. Cameroon and Serbia lost in the opener and are in no position to make any calculations. A defeat could cost both the Africans and the Balkans dearly, who were defeated last Thursday by Switzerland (1-0) and Brazil (2-0) respectively. Last call for Rigobert Song’s Indomitable Lions, considered the possible Cinderella of this grouping. Indeed, the favourites are Dragan Stojkovic’s men, the leading candidates to finish in second place after facing what is objectively the strongest team in Group G.

Cameroon could become the second national team to lose nine consecutive matches in a World Cup. Only Mexico managed this between 1930 and 1958. The last precedent between the two teams dates back to 2010. It was a friendly and ended 4-3 to Serbia. Here are the official line-ups.

  • CAMERUN (4-3-3): Epassy; Fai, Castelletto, N’Koulou, Tolo; Hongla, Kunde, Zambo Anguissa; Mbeumo, Choupo-Moting, Toko Ekambi. CT: Rigobert Song.
  • SERBIA (3-4-2-1): V. Milinkovic-Savic; Veljkovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic; Zivkovic, Lukic, S. Maksimovic, Kostic; Milinkovic-Savic, Tadic; A. Mitrovic. CT: Dragan Stojkovic.
