Fantasy Football Qatar 2022, between certainties and possible surprises forming a prolific attack and ‘dispenser’ of bonuses is always tricky.
Between the controversy over the lack of respect for human rights, alleged ‘fake’ fans and – last but not least – the bans on bringing beers into the stadiums, the curtain is finally about to rise on the controversial Qatari World Cup. Sunday is the big day. The one where we will witness the opening match (5pm) between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. Needless to say, there is still a tremendous struggle to accept the absence of Italy, which for the second consecutive time does not feature among the 32 participants in the final phase. But the World Championships remain in any case an unmissable event for fans. And consequently also for those inveterate fantasy footballers, who suffer at the mere thought of having to wait more than forty days for the return of Serie A. Fortunately, there are also fantasy footballers.
There are only a few hours left to create your own fantasy team. Many are rushing to complete the squad, trying to figure out who will be the most reliable national team, possible surprises, penalty takers. And, above all, figuring out who will play first.
Fanta football Qatar 2022, Messi super inspired, Mitrovic might surprise
In previous episodes we took the liberty of giving you some advice on goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders. Now comes the most exciting part: that of attackers. Who would you entrust your attack to: Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? Tough call. Actually, it is not just the two of them, although the Argentinean and the Portuguese – in what is likely to be their last World Cup – are among the most coveted (and expensive). They are no longer very young, but both are highly motivated: the former Barça player is the fulcrum of Scaloni’s Albiceleste, one of the most credible candidates for victory; the Portuguese is going through the most difficult moment of his career at Manchester United and will want to take advantage of the World Cup to prove that CR7 is far from finished.
In the first tier we also find the French attack tandem Benzema-Mbappé, a pair that needs no introduction. The Ballon d’Or also wants to impress with the Bleus, while the Psg star in our opinion could be the big star of Qatar 2022, as we have also reported here. Those who want to spend a little less can instead bet on Lewandowski. His Poland might not make it to the Middle East, but we are sure that the Barcelona sniper will leave his mark anyway. The same goes for Korea’s Son, who is expected to play with a protective mask due to the facial injury suffered with Tottenham. Other certainties you won’t find at bargain price are Leao, Lautaro Martinez and Kane (top scorer at the Russian World Cup).
Among the intriguing picks, finally, we cannot fail to mention Serbia’s Mitrovic – who for some will be more decisive than Vlahovic – and the Welsh duo James-Bale, potential draggers of the small British selection.
