Copenhagen-Borussia Dortmund, Champions League: TV, line-ups, predictions

by Sabrina

Copenhagen-Borussia Dortmund is a match for the sixth day of the group stage of the Champions League and is played on Wednesday at 21:00: statistics, likely formations, predictions, live TV and streaming

Similar to Inter’s group, everything is already settled in Group G, where Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are already certain to advance to the round of 16 and will do so as first (seeded) and second respectively. The last day, therefore, will not hold any surprises in store: destiny is also decided for the other two teams, Sevilla and Copenhagen, with the Spaniards playing in the Europa League play-offs in February. In fact, there would only be a three-point difference in the standings between Edin Terzic’s side and the Andalusians, but in the event of a tie, the Gialloneri would remain ahead due to their advantage in the direct clashes (1-4 in Sevilla and 1-1 in Germany). Three lengths also separate Borussia from former Haaland’s Citizens, but for the same reason as above they can no longer aspire to go first. Finally, the Danes are left empty-handed, as they are predicted to finish bottom of the group.

Terzic may give space to some young prospects – of whom Dortmund are known to abound – but the intention is to extend their four-game winning streak. In the Bundesliga last Saturday, three heavy points arrived in the direct clash with Eintracht Frankfurt, beaten 2-1 at home. After the collapse in Seville (3-0), Copenhagen – still without a goal in the cup – redeemed themselves at home, where they won 2-0 over Randers. The summit, however, remains a long way off for Jacob Neestrup’s men, momentarily eighth and ten points behind leaders Nordsjaelland.

The Prediction

TThere is absolutely nothing up for grabs in this match and it won’t be easy for either side to find valid reasons other than the Uefa prizes. The first leg ended 3-0 to Borussia Dortmund: the differences are quite pronounced and another round-robin victory for the yellow and red is highly probable. It cannot be ruled out, however, that Copenhagen’s attack could break free, thus avoiding a less than edifying negative record.

Copenhagen v Borussia Dortmund likely line-up

  • COPENAGHEN (4-3-3): Grabara; Jelert, Vavro, Lund, Kristiansen; Lerager, Clem, Stamenic; Claesson, Haraldsson, Daramy.
  • BORUSSIA DORTMUND (4-2-2): Kobel; Wolf, Süle, Schlotterbeck, Rothe; Emre Can, Salih Özcan; Brandt, Reyna; Modeste, Moukoko.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-2
