Manchester United-West Ham, Premier League: line-ups, predictions

by Sabrina

Manchester United-West Ham is a match valid for the fourteenth day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 17:15: predictions, TV, streaming.

With the clear-cut Europa League success over the unconquerable Sheriff Tiraspol, overwhelmed 3-0 at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s number of consecutive useful results has risen to seven, as they are struggling to straighten out their season. Erik ten Hag’s side are already assured of playing in the knockout phase of the second continental event, but in order to go through as first – and avoid the playoffs with the Champions League relegation – they will have to beat Real Sociedad next Thursday by at least two goals. But a win is also needed in the Premier League, since in Saturday’s early games almost all the direct competitors for the top four places did it, including Newcastle and Tottenham, now respectively +4 and +6 from the Red Devils. Good news, however, came from Brighton, where Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls taught former Graham Potter’s Chelsea a stern lesson as they were swept aside 4-1. And in the event of a win over West Ham, United would leapfrog the Blues into fifth place.

However, the Cristiano Ronaldo issue continues to hold sway. The Portuguese phenomenon has been ‘reintegrated’ in the squad and started from the 1′ against Sheriff, signing one of the three goals that gave the former Ajax coach another three points, but the relationship between the two remains quite chilly. In Europe, West Ham also smiled, with full points in the Conference League round: the Danes of Silkeborg also bowed out (1-0) to the Hammers, who basically dominated this grouping. For David Moyes it was the second win in a row after last Monday’s hard-fought victory over Bournemouth.
