Four clean sheets in the last five games were also crucial to the restart, in stark contrast to what remains the second most perforated defence. Leicester will now, however, be able to face their prohibitive engagement with Manchester City with less pressure on their shoulders. The reigning English champions beat De Zerbi’s Brighton 3-1 in the last round of the Premier League, taking two points from Arsenal and now dream of overtaking them at the top. In the Champions League, however, they settled for a point in the away match in Dortmund against Borussia, with Mahrez missing a penalty kick at the start of the second half. Qualification for the round of 16, however, is already secured. Pep Guardiola is likely to give a rest to Haaland, who came off midway through the first half of the match against his former club due to a foot problem.

An engagement that could prove more complicated than expected for Manchester City, not only because of the probable absence of Haaland. The Citizens remain obvious favourites for the three points to move back into first place, but the Foxes are on the up and may well contribute to a hard-fought game in which both sides are likely to score.
